University of the People (UoPeople) is the first non-profit, tuition-free, American, accredited online university. UNESCO estimates that, by the year 2025, there will be nearly 100 million young people seeking seats in universities that don't exist. Dedicated to opening access to higher education globally since 2009, UoPeople is designed to help qualified high school graduates overcome financial, geographic, political, and personal constraints keeping them from collegiate studies. Today, UoPeople has over 126,000 students enrolled from more than 200 countries and territories, including 16,500 students who are refugees.

"As an introvert and an inquisitive person, I loved going to school and
learning since I was a kid. So much so that when I realized secondary
school was how far my parents could support me, I shed tears and
wallowed in sorrow for weeks. At any given opportunity, I would hide and
cry my eyes out asking God the million-dollar question,
"Why Me?"
So after I completed high school, I took every job that I could lay my
hands on just to gather some money to continue my education.
Turns out the salary from these jobs wasn't enough because, even though I receive paychecks every month, I was still obligated to render some financial support at home as a "first-born" child. Eventually, I realized the only way my dream of furthering my education was going to come through was through some miracle, and that was when I met the University of the People in 2021, eight years after completing high school.
Today I have an associate's degree in business administration and have already started the coursework for my bachelor's degree, all thanks to the University of the People and Shai Reshef. My dream is to become a management consultant someday where I can work with various organizations and individuals in developing the best strategies that can be applied for business growth while promoting sustainable economic development.

Accredited Tuition-free Online Degrees at University of the People

University of the People was founded by the President, Shai Reshef in 2009 and was accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) in 2014. It's the world’s first tuition-free, non-profit, American accredited, online university. This online university has the best online learning model and volunteers around the world. The university offers Undergraduate certificates, Associates degree, Bachelors degree and Masters degree programs. The faculties are; Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Science, and Education.
UoPeople has attained a foothold in the international space of online higher education and it has partnered with Yale ISP Law School for research and New York University, University of California Berkeley, University of Edinburgh and other institutions to accept students. Academics from renowned universities around the world help in the administration of UoPeople. Currently, University of the People has students from over 200 countries and territories.
University of the People does not charge students for their educational instruction, course materials or annual enrollment. It is a not-for-profit entity and in order to be sustainable, the institution charges modest fees for application and examination processing. All applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $60 (one-time) and a modest assessment fee (varies with different programs) at the end of each final assessment taken.
